Felting Kits
Finally, Felting Kits for those of you who want some way to kick start your
own creativity. More kits will be coming soon.
Kits are out of stock. We will be updating the instructions and
offering the instruction package by the end of August. The instruction
package will show how to use different types of fabrics, fibers, ribbons, yarns
and other materials to get the effect that you are looking for. We are
working on the photos so that you will get both instructions and photos of the
results of using each type of material. We will also be including
recommendations for the needle size to use for various fabrics and will show how
different needle sizes can give you different results.
We expect to have a needle reference guide available by the end of
July. Look for it on our Cut Needle Page.
Until then, feel free to email me with any questions at tryourdesigns@aol.com
.
This kit contains instructions and all the materials that you need to make the
tote pictured above. You can choose to receive the material for the tote
bag in Black or blue denim. You will also receive sufficient embellishing
fabrics and fibers to embellish both sides of the tote (or you may choose to use
the additional fabrics and fibers to make another tote.) The fabrics and
fibers in the kit include: Silk Dupioni (in 3 or more colors), merino roving (in
3 or more colors), hand-dyed silk roving, hand-dyed silk noil, hand dyed silk
gauze, hand-dyed bias cut silk ribbon, assorted other fabrics which may include
cotton lame, polyester chaurmese, acrylic boucle, and more, assorted novelty
yarns (some of which may be hand dyed) and more. Basically, I have tried
to throw in lots of different fabrics and fibers so that you will have a chance
to see how they work when machine needle punched. A sewing machine is
required to complete the tote bag after embellishing. The completed size
of the tote is approximately 13" by 15" with handles as long as
27". The instructions
include many photos to help you identify the fabrics used and to see different
ways that the fibers can be punched to achieve different effects. This is
a great kit for someone who has just started to use a machine needle punch
machine or for someone who needs a little help taking the machine out of the box
and getting started.
