Now Carrying Clover Hand Needle Felting ToolsClover has come out with two really nice needle holders for felting needles. The older style holds 5 needles. The newer style holds 1 to 3 needles and looks like a pen. Both are easy to hold and don't tire your hands and wrists. I really love the new pen style. But, if you have a machine, why do you need a hand needle felting tool. Have you ever laid out a project and when you take it to the machine, all of the piece shift on you? The pen style tool may be the answer to that problem. Try laying out your project on a piece of 2 inch thick foam rubber. You can buy this at most fabric and upholstery stores. I have a piece that is 12" by 18". I lay out my design on the foam and then use the pen tool with the 3 needles to baste everything in place. If I am working with a large project that is all made of roving, then I lay a piece of Vilene between the foam and the roving. The Vilene helps when you separate a large piece from the foam. This is a great way to layout landscapes, seascapes and the like without having to worry about everything shifting on you. I particularly like to use this method when I am adding small pieces that I want to stay in a particular place. Just a couple of punches with the pen style tool and it is going to stay right where you want it when you go to use your machine. Info regarding Replacement Needle Holder for Janome XPressionsI have just tested all of the needles that we carry and they DO WORK with the Janome XPression (FM-725) if you have the new needle holder that takes individual needles. This new needle holder kit is available from your Janome Dealer. Tell the dealer that you want Part Number 725822004 Changeable 5-Needle Unit. It is listed under the accessories for the FM-725 on the Janome website if your dealer has a question about it. If your dealer cannot get it for you or if you do not have a dealer nearby, check the Links section in the left column for Ashby's Sewing Center, a Janome dealer who will ship this part to you. Once you have the new changeable needle holder, SAVE MONEY by buying your replacement needles from us. To help you decide on the needles that will work best with your projects, we have just posted a paper with guidance on which needle to use with which fiber or fabric. Check it out by clicking here.
